Mark of a good book

Guessed who stayed up until 4 AM this morning reading Fool's Fate?

Comments:
I love books that suck me in so totally that I can't put them down, no matter how late it gets or how tired I am. Sounds like you picked up a good one!

Re: Eugie's post.
Yeah. Ms Hobb's Farseer books are the bar I've personally set for myself as a writer and the books I measure others when reading and reviewing them.

I just had that happen with "The Front Runner" from Patricia Nell Warren. I get caught up in the lives of ther characters and the events and obstacles and their victories that I just have to find out what happens at the end. Though, I didn't stay up until 4 am. The last time I stayed up that late with a book was back in college when I spent the entire weekend reading "It" by Stephen King. (Good thing it was a weekend and that the cafeteria had long hours.)

Re: staying up until 4 AM.
It's not a pretty sight.

LOL - I totally did the same thing last night. Not with the same book, though. I was reading one of Elizabeth Peter's Amelia Peabody Mysteries. It's a great example of using a diary to filter the story... you can just imagine what must have actually happened by what she doesn't say.

Anyway - I am attempting to resuscitate my writing blog. So far I'm doing better with the blog than I am with book itself...

Reply to Kate:
Elizabeth Peter's stuff is that good, eh? I love historical mysteries and we have a college of her books. Maybe that'll be the next one I'll read.

Re: writing and blogging.
Oh, YEAH. Same here. Struggling to change that, though. Let me know when you start writing more. I'll link your writing blog to Way.
